Kelowna RCMP seek to identify person of interest in ongoing investigation

Kelowna, BC: RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in an ongoing police investigation.

On October 20, 2016 at 9:17 am, the Kelowna RCMP received a report of suspicious circumstances, where an unknown man associated to a white or beige coloured Mercedes 4-door sedan, reportedly attended multiple schools in the Kelowna area. RCMP have spoken with students and staff and believe that the man was searching for a student.

At this time it is unclear what the man’s intentions were, however RCMP and officials with the Central Okanagan School District are taking the matter seriously.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance, with the release of still images obtained from video surveillance footage, which they hope will aid in identifying the person of interest or his vehicle.

Description of person of interest:

  • Caucasian male;
  • 18 to 21 years;
  • 5 ft 10 in tall;
  • 190 lbs;
  • short brown hair;
  • facial stubble;
  • wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, black shoes and a camouflage baseball cap;
