Burnaby RCMP investigating shooting incident, believed to be targeted

Burnaby, BC: On October 27, 2016, shortly after 11:30 pm, Burnaby RCMP received multiple calls of shots fired in the 2000 block of Rosser Ave in Burnaby. Upon attendance, police located a vehicle in an underground parking lot with gunshot damage. Prior to police arrival, one vehicle was seen fleeing the scene but the description of the vehicle has not been confirmed at this time.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was located uninjured, nearby. Early indications are that the intended victim was shot at in what appears to be a targeted incident. The intended victim is known to police and is affiliated with an organized crime group. No one has been arrested in relation to this incident.

The Burnaby RCMP Investigative Support Team are continuing their investigation and are mindful of other violent incidents that have recently taken place in the Lower Mainland. Burnaby investigators have been in contact with investigators from other Lower Mainland Police agencies and RCMP Detachments to share information and look at possible connections between these incidents.
