Medicine Hat Police Seize Drugs Valued at $340,000 28 Year Old B.C. Female Charged

Medicine Hat, Alberta – On October 27, 2016 at about 2:45 pm a member of the Medicine Hat Police Service’s Patrol Section conducted a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway. During the vehicle stop the officer made several observations which helped form grounds for an arrest.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 80 pounds of cannabis marihuana and 1 kilogram of powder cocaine. The total value of the drugs seized is estimated at $340,000.

The lone female occupant of the vehicle was identified as Allison Stewart (28 years) of Surrey, British Columbia. Stewart was charged with the following;

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marihuana)
– Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Stewart was held for a bail hearing, and released on her own recognizance to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on November 24, 2016.
