UPDATE: Victim identified in Calgary’s Riverbend shooting incident

Calgary, Alberta – The victim of a shooting that occurred yesterday in Riverbend has been identified.  At approximately 10:50 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, police were called to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Riverbend Drive S.E. Upon arrival, a man in his 20s was found seriously injured in the backseat of a car that was parked on the driveway of a residence. He was declared deceased on scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has formally identified the victim as Kyle ROWE, 26, of Calgary. The autopsy is still ongoing.

By the nature of the shooting, it is believed that this was a targeted attack and that there is no ongoing danger to the public. A specific motive for the shooting is not yet known.
