Nanaimo unsolved crimes Oct 25th to Nov 3rd

Nanaimo, BC: Nanaimo File#2016-35614: On Tuesday October 25th, Nanaimo RCMP received a report from a concerned parent about a suspicious male. The complainant’s 12 year old daughter was walking home from school, near the Quarterway Pub on Bowen Road, and was approached by an older male with missing teeth and heavily tanned skin. The male had freshly picked mushrooms in his hands and asked the girl if she wanted to play Alice in Wonderland. The girl walked away and the male did not pursue. Parents are reminded to discuss with their children about how to deal with strangers, and encourage them to walk in groups when possible.

Nanaimo File #2016-36169: On Sunday October 30th, staff at James General Store on Victoria Road reported that an unknown male had stolen their poppy donation box. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, short dark hair, wearing a grey Superman hoodie, and carrying a red jacket over his shoulder. The suspect was carrying a shopping bag with a Halloween design on it.

Nanaimo File # 2016-36623 Sometime between 11:30 pm on Monday October 31st, and 9 am on Tuesday November 1st, a break in occurred at Italian Foods and Souvenirs, located at 904 Wentworth. The front door to the business had been forced open and taken was a new bocce set in a blue zippered bag, cash register and various meats and cheeses from the freezer. The cash register was later found a half block from the business.

Nanaimo File #2016-36525. On Wednesday November 2nd, Nanaimo RCMP received a report of a residential break and enter in the 7000 block of Ellesmere Drive, in Lantzville. The home owner had only been away from the home for about two hours and returned to find numerous items stolen. The stolen items consisted of a number of uncirculated coins.

Nanaimo File # 2016-36540 Sometime overnight on Wednesday November 2nd, a boat moored at the Nanaimo Yacht Club was broken into. Taken were two life jackets and a set of Bushnell binoculars.

Nanaimo File#2016-36632: On Thursday November 3rd, a bicycle was stolen from a 2nd floor apartment balcony on Tulsa Road. The bike is described as a Norco VPS mountain bike, silver with red maple leaf graphics on the frame.
