Police investigate threats at Bev Facey High School; Hold and Secure activated

Sherwood Park, Alberta – This morning at approximately 10:39 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of uttering threats at Bev Facey High School. A student received a threatening text message concerning the safety of the school and advised a staff member immediately.

As a result of the threat the school was placed in a Hold & Secure and police were contacted.

Strathcona County RCMP attended the scene immediately and quickly identified the person responsible for sending the threat. A student at the school was arrested without incident and the Hold and Secure was lifted shortly after.

Strathcona County RCMP and the Strathcona County General Investigations Unit continue to investigate this incident.
