Theft of Legion Donation Money From Heritage Inn in High River – ARRESTED

High River, Alberta – The High River RCMP would like to thank the Community for their assistance on this matter.  Last night a young person was arrested as a suspect for the  theft of money taken from the Poppy Box of a local business.   Charges are pending and the young person has been released into the custody of his parents.  The name of the youth is being with held under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.   It is believed to be approximately $50.00 of donation were in the Poppy Box at the time it was taken.


On November 8th, 2016 at approximately 7:30 pm, a male entered the Heritage Inn and stole the Legion poppy box left on the front counter. The male exited the building and removed an unknown amount of donated money before throwing the poppies on the ground and fleeing the area.

The male appears to be 17-20 years of age, with dark brown hair, a slim build and approximately 5’8” – 6’0” tall. If anyone recognizes the male shown they are urged to contact the High River RCMP.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information regarding this type of occurrence to contact the High River RCMP at (403) 652-2357.
