Grande Prairie RCMP Respond to Possible Threat at Local Airport

Grande Prairie, Alberta: Grande Prairie RCMP were called to assist with a report of a suspicious device at the Grande Prairie Airport.

On Thursday, November 10, 2016 at approximately 2:00 PM, Garda Security at the airport noticed an unusual laptop while screening a passenger’s belongings. RCMP attended the location and, in consultation with the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit and local computer technicians, determined that the specialized computer was not a concern for passenger safety.

The passenger continued on his flight and airport operations have returned to normal.
