21-Year-Old Male Charged in Winnipeg Homicide

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On May 12, 2016, at approximately 6:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of a male shot in the 600 block of Wellington Avenue.

The victim had been identified as George PRIESTON, 29-years-old, of Winnipeg.

On May 14, 2016, Winnipeg Police advised that two arrests had been made in relation to this incident. Raymond DUCHARME, 25 years, and Shawn POITRA, 25 years, were both charged with First Degree Murder.

On November 10, 2016 Homicide investigators charged a third suspect in relation to this incident.

Pierre David CONTOIS, 21-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

– First Degree Murder
– Cruelty to Animals

Contois was detained in custody.
