Medicine Hat, Alberta – The Medicine Hat Police Service Major Crimes Section continues the investigation into the events of November 12, 2016, leading up to the discovery of a deceased female, located at a residence in the 800 block of 3rd Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB.
Noah Harrison Bentley, 26 years old, of Medicine Hat, has been charged with Second Degree murder. A bail hearing was conducted on November 13, 2016, and Mr. Bentley was remanded into custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for November 15, 2016.
The female victim has been identified as Brenda Woloski, 53 years old, of Medicine Hat, AB. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15th, 2016, where a preliminary cause of death is expected from the Medical Examiner.
Police continue to gather evidence from the residence on 3rd Street SE and the area remains a secure crime scene.
Having two homicides occur in such short time frame, is tragic and unprecedented in Medicine Hat. The investigation into both matters has determined that they are unrelated and both appear to be isolated incidents involving individuals who were known to each other. While the events are very disconcerting, it is important for the community to recognize that Medicine Hat remains a safe community.
