Fatal motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian

Stony Plain, Alberta – On Sunday, November 14, 2015 at approximately 4:00 PM the Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch RCMP responded to a complaint of a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian. It appears that a motorist, in a grey 2010 Nissan Altima was driving in the parking lot of the Stony Plain Co-op grocery store parking lot at 4917 – 50th Avenue when he failed to noticed the pedestrian and he was stuck.

The victim, a 75 year old male suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the U of A Hospital, in serious condition by Star Air Ambulance and later succumbed to his injuries.

The 22 year driver did not suffered any injuries.

The collision is still under investigation.
