Lethbridge man charged with robbery, assault

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a 28-year-old man following a robbery at a south side convenience store Monday night.

On Nov. 14, 2016 at approximately 9:25 p.m. police responded to an alarm and 911 call at Esso along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South. Investigation determined a male had entered the store, walked behind the counter, demanded cash and then shoved the female clerk. He grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and on his way out of the store, punched a male who was just entering.

The subject was located by police a short distance away and subsequently arrested.

Matthew Lee Unser, 28, of Lethbridge, is charged with robbery and assault. Unser was remanded in custody and made his first court appearance today.
