RCMP arrests man and woman following home invasion in Western Shore

Western Shore, Nova Scotia – The residents of a home hid under a bed this morning when at 7 a.m., a masked man tried unsuccessfully to force his way into their home on Lawrence Hatt Rd.

Lunenburg District RCMP responded quickly and arrested a man and a woman. No one was hurt during the incident, although the residents of the home were understandably shaken.

The RCMP seized a balaclava, bear spray, cocaine, and marihuana products during the arrest of the suspects. A 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Halifax, are facing charges of:

  • Attempted Break and Enter
  • Wearing a Disguise (Mask) during the Commission of an Offence
  • Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
  • Possession of Marihuana, Hashish and Cocaine
  • They are being held in custody and will appear later today in Bridgewater Provincial Court.

The investigation is ongoing.
