Two people die in fatal crash on Route 8, near Allardville, N.B.

Allardville, New Brunswick – The Northeast District RCMP is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Route 8, near Allardville, N.B., in the early morning hours of November 16, 2016.

Members of the Bathurst RCMP responded to the crash at around 2 a.m. The collision occurred when a vehicle travelling northbound collided with an southbound transport truck.

Both occupants of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man from Saint-Anne, near Bathurst, and a 22-year-old woman from Petit-Rocher, passed away at the scene as a result of injuries they sustained in the crash. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The coroner and an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. It’s believed that the vehicle crossed the centre line, into the path of the oncoming truck, but the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
