Calgary, Alberta – Emergency services have contained a residence in the 0-100 block of Westpark Link S.W., after white powder was found inside.
As part a larger investigation, the Calgary Police Service executed a search warrant on the residence on the morning of Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, when the white powder was discovered.
The officers immediately left the building and were examined by EMS to ensure they did not experience any health impacts from the unknown powder. The scene has now been contained by police and the Calgary Fire Department while the RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team works to remove and identify the powder.
No one was injured during the execution of the search warrant and there is no risk to the public while crews remove the powder.
There are no further details about the investigation that can be released at this time.
