Non-fatal injury head-on collision on Highway 32 South sends one to hospital

Whitecourt, Alberta – On November 22, 2016 at around 6:00 a.m., a car travelling northbound on Highway 32 south near Whitecourt, Alberta collided spectacularly with a southbound empty logging truck.

The car was in the wrong lane of travel and the passenger side of the car was obliterated. The driver was ejected from the car and all air-bags were deployed. The driver, a 34 year-old male from Whitecourt, was transported to hospital due to serious but non-life threatening injuries. The logging truck sustained minor damage and the log truck driver was not injured.

RCMP are continuing their investigation and charges are pending against the driver of the car.
