Three Individuals Confuse Hops Farm for Marijuana Operation

Alexandra, Prince Edward Island – Queens District RCMP are crediting the actions of a local farmer for assisting with the apprehension of persons breaking into his property.

On Saturday November 26, 2016 at 3:45 pm, Stratford RCMP responded as a result of a complaint from the farmer about a break and enter into his Hops Farm (Beer Production). The farmer had observed three unknown adults near his farm buildings. Two adult male and one adult female from Charlottetown were taken quickly into custody. The three adults told RCMP Members that they thought there was marihuana growing on the farm. The three caused extensive damaged to the farm’s crop that was packaged for shipping.

This senseless act has impacted the farm’s ability to provide quality product to market.

Charges of Break Enter Theft and Mischief and two counts of Breaching Court Orders have been laid against Warren Jesse HOWATT, 23 yrs old male, from Charlottetown. He was held in custody over weekend and will appear in court later today, November 28. Two other have been released and will appear in Provincial court at a later date.
