Grande Prairie RCMP and Major Crimes Unit investigate homicide

Grande Prairie, Alberta – At approximately 4:30 p.m. today, Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a residence of an injured male in Grande Prairie. The male was taken to hospital and regrettably succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit – North (MCU) has assumed carriage of the investigation with assistance from the Grande Prairie General Investigative Section (GIS). Police have one suspect in custody.

Police believe this was not a random act and there is no risk for public safety.

The investigation is ongoing, therefore, additional details are not available at this time. An update will be provided once new information has been confirmed.
