Breton/Thorsby RCMP Investigate Shots Fired on Rural Property in Brazeau County

Thorsby, Alberta – On January 28, 2017 at approximately 2:00 a.m. an unknown number of suspects were caught stealing fuel on a rural property in Brazeau County. The suspects were confronted by the property owner and attempted to flee the scene in a dark colored SUV. While fleeing, the owner of the property shot a firearm at the suspects.

It is unknown if any of the suspects were injured and their identity is not known.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark colored Chevrolet Suburban and may be related to report of a rural break and enter approximately thirty minutes prior in Brazeau County.

Investigation into this matter is ongoing. Police are asking for anyone with information relating to this incident to contact the Thorsby/Breton RCMP at 780-789-3951.
