Four people facing charges following another incident involving a stolen vehicle evading police in Saskatoon

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – At approximately 1;15 a.m., February 5, 2017, patrol officers spotted a vehicle driving erratically in the area of 11th Street and Avenue P south. Officers attempted to stop the 2011 Chevy Aveo however the driver and three occupants refused to stop. The suspects ran stop sign, and caused a minor collision with another vehicle before side swiping at least two parked cars, abandoning the stolen vehicle, and attempting to flee on foot. Patrol and Canine members located all four nearby and brought them into custody. During a search officers located a replica handgun and a hatchet.

The Chevy Aveo had been reported stolen an hour prior as it sat unlocked and running outside a residence on Main Street.

Two women ages 24 and 25, and two men ages 21 and 22, are facing charges of possession of stolen property. The 25 year old female driver is also facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evade police, possession of a weapon, and obstructing a police officer. The 24 year old woman is also facing charges of breach of undertaking and breach of probation.

All four are expected to appear in court on February 6, 2017.
