Leduc RCMP Make Multiple Drug Arrests

Leduc, Alberta – On February 2, 2017 Leduc RCMP’s Drug Unit made multiple arrests after an investigation targeting individuals selling drugs in the City of Leduc.

37 year old Ashley VEINOTTE of Leduc is facing charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with his release conditions after he was arrested during the execution of a search warrant. During the search that followed officers located a substantial amount of cocaine valued at approximately $7000 in addition to cash, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. At the time of his arrest Mr. VEINOTTE was out on bail from another series of drug trafficking charges stemming from an incident in 2016. He is being held in custody pending his court appearance.

34 year old Sheldon OLSON of Edmonton was arrested and charged on the same day in a separate incident for trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. During Mr OLSEN’s arrest approximately $1600 worth of cocaine was seized along with a large sum of cash. He has been released on bail pending his court appearance.
