Two men in custody following standoff with police in Lethbridge

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have two males in custody following an incident Friday that resulted in a four-hour standoff with police.

Earlier this afternoon police attended a home along Dalhousie Court West to execute an arrest warrant in relation to a male subject. The male resisted arrest and brandished a knife. Police had reason to believe additional weapons were present in the home and the subject and another male were contained inside.

Members of the Critical Incident Team – including the Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiators – assisted in the matter. After approximately four hours the men exited the residence and were taken into custody without further incident. No one was hurt.

A 27-year-old male and 19-year-old male remain in custody and charges are pending.
