Airdrie RCMP Investigates Theft and Assault at Liquor Store

Airdrie, Alberta – On Feb. 12, 2017, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a suspect male entered the Sobey’s liquor store on Main Street in Airdrie. The male refused service when asked by staff if he needed any help. He proceeded to walk past the cash registers and ran out of the store with approximately $150 worth of liquor.

A staff member grabbed the suspect male by the arm as he was trying to flee, as a result the suspect pushed back and managed to escape on foot in a West bound direction. The staff member suffered minor injuries as a result of the altercation.

The suspect male is described as:

  • Appeared to be an Asian male
  • Approximately 30 years old
  • Wearing a Burgundy leather jacket, jeans and dark coloured t-shirt with a skull
  • Buzz cut hair style
