Drugs seized as a result of Traffic Stop in Borden-Carleton

Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island – At approximately 8 a.m. on February 21, 2017, an RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop in Borden-Carleton. The officer observed marijuana in the vehicle and arrested the male driver for having possession of a controlled substance and searched the vehicle. As a result, a quantity of marijuana was seized and the driver is scheduled to appear in court in May.

Police are reminding the public that marijuana is still illegal and driving while under the influence of marijuana or any other substance is considered impaired driving. If anyone has any information regarding drugs or impaired driving, please contact your local RCMP detachment and report your observations.
