Fort McMurray, Alberta – Wood Buffalo RCMP: Police can now confirm that Charles Bastien evacuated Fort McMurray safely in May. However, he is still considered a missing person, and police are continuing with efforts to locate him.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man who has been missing since the Fort McMurray wildfires, in May of 2016.
In February, police were alerted of a man that has not been in contact with his family since the wildfires. His family was aware that he was staying in a camp outside of Fort McMurray at the time. Police have also been unable to make contact with the man.
The missing man, Charles Bastien, is described as:
- 55 years old
- 5’9″ tall
- Approximately 180 lbs
- Blonde/ grey hair
- Green eyes
- Speaks French and English
Bastien most recently resided in Edmonton, but also lived in Quebec and Ontario.
