Whistler, BC – RCMP in Whistler are, in cooperation with the BC Coroner Service, continuing an investigation involving the death of a youth skiing at the Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort.
RCMP received a call just after 5:00 pm on March 3, of a missing youth skier that had separated from their guided group of youth skiers, about three hours prior. A search was originally initiated by Whistler Blackcomb’s ski patrol at the onset of the report by the ski guides with the group. The youth was located by ski patrol, with serious injuries, shortly after the report to RCMP. Resuscitation efforts were made, but the youth did not survive the injuries sustained.
RCMP are actively gathering information from witnesses, and have enlisted the assistance of Sea to Sky GIS. This incident continues to be investigated with the BC Coroner Service.
