Consort, Alberta – On March 28, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Consort RCMP were notified of a threat directed towards students at the Consort School, in Consort, Alberta. These threats occurred outside of school supervised hours.
The RCMP immediately responded to investigate these concerns, the resulting investigation concluded with 1 charge against a youth for uttering threats. This was achieved through work with the Consort School, Prairie Land Regional Division, parents, staff and students. At no time was any member of the public, school personnel or students at risk as the school was closed.
“On behalf of the RCMP, I want to thank the students, parents and the staff of Consort School for their cooperation during this investigation,” says Constable Corey Hall of the Consort RCMP Detachment.
The youth who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act will appear in Coronation Provincial Court on April 28th, 2017.
As this matter is currently before the courts, no further information will be made available.
