Edmonton Police make arrest in northeast weapons complaint

Edmonton, Alberta – Police Service has arrested a man in relation to a weapons complaint that left another man with a gunshot injury.

The 28-year-old male suspect is charged with aggravated assault and 10 other charges relating to firearms, drug possession and breach of conditions offenses.

The 28-year-old male complainant is facing eight charges for firearms, drug possession and breach condition offenses.

The name of the suspect is not being released at this time as the investigation continues.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident. The accused and complainant are known to each other and known to the police.

On Monday, March 27, 2017 at approximately 3 p.m., Northeast Division patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 133 Avenue and 66 Street. When officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot.

The man was treated and transported to hospital by EMS.
