St. Albert RCMP Request Public’s Help to Identify Gas and Dash Suspect

St. Albert, Alberta – St. Albert RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the subject involved in a recent gas and dash from Petro Canada on St. Albert Trail.

March 3, 2017, at 2:15 P.M. a white male was seen on surveillance footage fueling up a vehicle. The subject was fueling up a white Hyundai sports utility vehicle. Fuel was not paid for and the license plate displayed did not match the vehicle.

“Theft of license plates, fuel and property are continuous.” says Cst. Patrick Lambert of the St. Albert Community Policing Crime Prevention Unit “It is theft regardless of the value of property and investigated accordingly by the police.” Police have noted that calls for thefts of fuel and license plates in weeks past has been higher than the start of the year. It is always encouraged to be vigilant in inspecting your vehicle to confirm your license plate is attached.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance is identifying the lone individual as he may be unaware his license plate has been replaced.
