Edmonton, Alberta – An Edmonton man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death early Monday morning of a 53-year-old woman.
Jason Glenn Dickout, 30, is charged with second-degree murder and possession of a dangerous weapon in relation to the death of a 53-year-old female.
Both the accused and the deceased knew one another.
Homicide investigators have deemed the manner of death to be homicide, the 14th of 2017.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
Every file is evaluated on a case by case basis. The EPS has decided not to release the name of the deceased in this investigation for the following reasons: it does not serve an investigative purpose, there is no risk to public safety and the EPS has a duty to protect the privacy rights of the victims and their families.
Northeast Division patrol officers responded to a call for assistance from a residential address near 130 Avenue and 32 Street, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2017.
Upon arrival, members found a deceased 53-year-old female inside the home. Homicide Section has now taken over the investigation.
