Lethbridge Police seize $115,000 worth of drugs and stolen property

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have seized methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs along with a significant quantity of stolen property from a north side home.

On April 13, 2017 police were contacted to assist Lethbridge Fire/EMS at a suspected overdose call involving a male and female who were found unresponsive in a garage along the 1200 block of 9 Avenue North. Police observed drugs in plain sight and the home was secured while a search warrant was obtained.

Following further investigation, including execution of the warrant, police seized 300 oxycodone pills, 356 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $53,415, 248 grams of powder cocaine worth $24,810, as well as small quantities of crack cocaine, fentanyl and heroin. The total value of the seized drugs is approximately $84,517.

In addition police seized cash proceeds of crime and a large amount of stolen property, including a motorcycle, power tools, new space heaters, fireplace, multiple pieces of jewelry, pot lights, flooring, assorted electronics and a guitar. The total estimated value of the stolen property is $30,000.

The male and female were treated in hospital and have been charged with multiple drug trafficking and property crime offences.

Padan Cassidy Ashcroft, 29, of Lethbridge is charged with:

  • Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Two counts of possession of a controlled substance
  • Breach of recognizance
  • Two counts of failure to comply with probation
  • Two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Possession of the proceeds of crime

Ashcroft was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court April 20.

Christina Lynn Guest, 30, of Lethbridge is charged with:

  • Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Two counts of possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of the proceeds of crime

She remains in hospital and a court date has not yet been set.
