Beaverlodge RCMP Charge Youth with Multiple Offences

Beaverlodge, Alberta – On Tuesday April 18, 2017 at approximately 1:06 A.M, RCMP responded to a trespassing complaint in Wembley, Alberta which resulted in five (5) youths being charged.

The police were called to a residence in Wembley, where individuals wearing hooded sweaters were seen rummaging through vehicles. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. Patrols were made in the area which led police to locate three 15 year-old males, a 17 year-old male and a 17 year-old female, responsible for stealing items from multiple different vehicles and damaging property.

The youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with the following Criminal Code offences; Mischief under $5000.00 x6, Theft from motor vehicle under $5000.00 x3, trespassing at night x 18 (CC) and possession of a controlled substance (CDSA).

Two of the five youth have also been charged with failing to comply with a sentence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Throughout the investigation, police were able to recover the stolen property and return it to their rightful owners.

All five youth are to appear in Provincial Court on May 29, 2017.
