Strathcona County RCMP investigate hit and run

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following crime:

Today at approximately 2:52 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a gas and dash at the Superstore Gas Bar on Baseline Road in Sherwood Park.

Witnesses report that a male suspect was leaving without paying for his gas when a male employee attempted to intervene and stop the suspect from leaving, resulting in the employee being run over.

The suspect vehicle was last seen heading Westbound on Baseline Road towards Sherwood Drive.

The vehicle is described as a 2000-2008 silver four door Dodge Ram with extended tow mirrors, black after-market rims, lowered trailer hitch and unknown decals in the rear window

The suspect driver is described as caucasian male in his 30’s.

The victim was transported to hospital by ground ambulance with serious injuries.
