Edson RCMP Investigating Break and Enter in Peers

Edson, Alberta – Edson RCMP are investigating a break and enter to a commercial store in the Hamlet of Peers. On April 27th, 2017 at approximately 4:00 AM police received a report of a break and enter in progress to the local store. Police responded and found that a door had been pried open in order to gain access to the business. A quantity of cigarettes were then stolen before the suspects fled in their vehicle.

Police are looking for at least two persons who were in a large black pickup, believed to be a turbo diesel, and had 3 black barrel type objects in the box of the pickup.

“This business was well protected, the target hardening undertaken by the business owners certainly made it more difficult for entry to be gained,” states Constable Alex Ayres of the Edson RCMP Detachment. “We hope someone out there will have some information about this crime and we would ask that they come forward in order to assist us in holding those responsible accountable.”

Edson RCMP are continuing to investigate and are requesting anyone with knowledge of this occurrence to contact Edson RCMP at (780) 723-8800, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or online at http://www.crimestoppers.ab.ca/edmonton/.
