Drug Lab Shut Down in Coquitlam, B.C., 84,000 pills of various types seized

Coquitlam, BC – On April 20, 2017 RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime (FSOC) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Walker Street in Coquitlam, BC. One man was arrested at the residence and evidence of a large scale drug manufacturing lab was found.

The RCMP Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response Team (CLEAR) were used to make entry to the home to ensure the safety of RCMP members and the public. During the search police seized a large quantity of drugs believed to be steroids. Also found were counterfeit prescription pills believed to be manufactured in the lab. There were approximately 84,000 pills of various types seized from the lab and 2000 vials of liquid. There is no danger to the public at this time.

“Counterfeit medications and steroids are a real danger to the community and provide resources for organized crime.” said FSOC Sergeant Gary Mehat “This kind of enforcement goes a long way in keeping people safe.”

The investigation is still ongoing.
