Medicine Hat Police Charge Male in Connection to Stolen Property

Medicine Hat, Alberta – On May 1, 2017, the Medicine Hat Police Service received information regarding that a male operating a Canyon Technical Services truck and wanted on a Canada Wide warrant was in Medicine Hat.

At approximately 12:00PM, members of the Priority Street Crime Section located a vehicle matching the description provided pulling into the parking lot of the Kingsway Crossing Business Park. The male went into a store and after exiting was arrested by members of the Police Service.

Daniel NAPESIS, 33 years old, of no fixed address was arrested on his outstanding warrant. Further investigation revealed the truck he was operating was stolen out of Grand Prairie and that he had attended several businesses in Medicine Hat where he either stole or defrauded the business of further property.

In addition to the arrest warrant, NAPESIS was charged with; Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Breach of Probation, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, Fraud Under $5,000 (x 2) and Attempted Fraud Under $5000 (x 2).

NAPESIS was held for a bail hearing and remanded to appear in court on May 3, 2017.
