Regina Police Charge Male with First Degree Murder in Death of Daniel DiPaolo

Regina, Saskatchewan – On May 6, 2017 Edward Genaille (DOB: 1966/02/04) was charged with 1st degree murder in relation to the death of Daniel DiPaolo.

Daniel DiPaolo was found deceased in his residence in the 700 block of Garnet Street on April 29, 2017.

The Regina Police Service can confirm that the discovery of a deceased person at a house in the 700 block of Garnet Street is now a homicide case. This is the first homicide in Regina in 2017. The Regina Police Major Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is continuing this investigation. The deceased person has been identified as 51 year-old Daniel Richard DIPAOLO, DOB: 1965-05-28, of Regina. His family has been notified of his death.

This investigation began on Saturday, April 29, 2017, when police were dispatched, at 5:40 a.m., to a house in the 700 block of Garnet Street, for a report of an injured male. Police and EMS attended and located an adult male. EMS confirmed the male was deceased. Police secured the scene and requested the Coroner. As the investigation developed, other investigative units were requested, including Major Crimes and Forensic Identification.
