UPDATE: Airdrie RCMP Currently Investigating Suspicious Package at Canada Post

Airdrie, AlbertaOn Monday, May 15, 2017 at approximately 11:15 am, Canada Post employees located a package leaking a white powder at 2945 Kingsview Boulevard. The package was subsequently deemed suspicious and RCMP were contacted. The building was evacuated and Hazmat experts were consulted. Airdrie Fire and EMS were also on scene assessing employees that may have been exposed.

The package was inspected and deemed to contain non-toxic material. The Canada Post building is now operational again.

The Airdrie RCMP thanks the public for their cooperation with this matter.

BACKGROUND

Airdrie, Alberta – Airdrie RCMP are asking the public to stay clear of the Canada Post located at 2945 Kingsview Boulevard.

On Monday, May 15, 2017 at approximately 11:15 am, Canada Post employees located a package leaking a white powder. The package was subsequently deemed suspicious and RCMP were contacted. The building was evacuated and Hazmat experts are being consulted. Airdrie Fire and EMS are also on scene assessing employees that may have been exposed.
