Mississauga, Ontario – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Criminal Investigations Section is currently investigating possible violations of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, in response to several complaints.
It is alleged that two middle-aged females, known only as “Linda” and “Donna,” have taken large sums of money from victims in exchange for the promise of obtaining legal status in Canada. It is believed that these women are of West Indian descent.
At this time the CBSA is seeking witnesses and/or victims to come forward with any information that can assist in this investigation. The CBSA believes these are not isolated incidents.
Anyone with further information on these individuals is asked to call the Greater Toronto Area Region CBSA Criminal Investigations Section at 905-803-5450.
There are serious consequences for those who break Canada’s immigration laws, including possible criminal convictions, court-imposed fines, probation periods, and incarceration.
