Update: Body of missing person Clayton Cassidy located

Ashcroft, BC – The Ashcroft RCMP have confirmed that the body of missing person Clayton Cassidy, was located late Saturday evening.

On Saturday evening on May 27, 2017 at approximately 10:30 pm, the Ashcroft RCMP was advised that the body of missing person Clayton Cassidy was located in Cache Creek, by the Ashcroft fire dept during the daily patrol of Cache Creek.

Ashcroft RCMP, Search and Rescue technicians from Kamloops and the Ashcroft Fire Dept, worked throughout the night. Recovery efforts are continuing with SAR techs from the 100 Mile House SAR Team are attending to relieve the previous team. Mr Cassidy’s body was located a short distance away from the bridge wash out area.

“It is felt that a recovery will be safely completed today. The Ashcroft RCMP have notified MR Cassidy’s family and are providing support,” stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk.
