Vernon/North Okanagan Police seek to speak with driver who offered Spallumcheen area student a ride

Vernon/North Okanagan, BC – The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP in Armstrong are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a suspicious occurrence which occurred last Wednesday, in the area of Noble Rd, in Spallumcheen, BC.

On Wednesday May 24th, 2017 at approximately it was reported that an elementary grade student was riding their bike in the area, when they were approached by an unknown male who asked if they wanted a ride. The vehicle is described as a white GMC pickup. The vehicle had some rust around the box of the pick-up and had a dent in the rear bumper. There was a black bar in the box area which could have been either a roll bar or off road light bar.

The driver was described as a male with a darker complexion, with a small moustache, short hair, and described as being in his 30s. The male was also observed to have a tattoo on their arm of a cat/tiger with a skull and also had an ear piercing.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP would like to speak with this person in order to fully determine the motive of the exchange with the student. This appears to be an isolated incident which is being actively investigated.
