Ponoka, Alberta – Mark Carr was arrested by the RCMP without incident this afternoon. A court date is pending.
On June 2, 2017 the Ponoka RCMP entered into an investigation involving allegations of sexual assault and forcible confinement. Through the course of this investigation a suspect was identified and the K-Division Emergency Response Team was activated to assist with a search of the suspect’s property.
During the evening of June 3, 2017 a judicially authorized search of the suspect’s property was conducted; however, the suspect was not located. This operation was concluded during the early morning hours of June 4.
Mark Carr (37) has been charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats.
