Vernon, BC – The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is currently investigating a violent incident which involved several males fighting on a downtown sidewalk, early Sunday morning. One individual was transported to hospital as result of his injuries.
On Sunday June 4, 2017 at 00:54 am, multiple Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP units responded to a report of a large group of people fighting outside a local nightclub located at 29th Ave and 29th St, Vernon, BC. Police arrived on scene a minute after receiving the initial call. The incident had subsided prior to police attendance with many of those involved already having fled. On arrival, a 20 year old male was located on the ground with several other males tending to him.
The male had a cut to his face causing a substantial amount of bleeding. BC Ambulance Services also attended and transported the male to Vernon Jubilee Hospital. The male was subsequently released from hospital, and due to his level of intoxication taken into custody by the RCMP until he could care for himself. He was subsequently released the next morning.
