UPDATE: Calgary domestic-related shooting determined to be attempted murder and suicide

Calgary, Alberta – A domestic-related shooting in the city’s southeast has been determined to be an attempted murder and suicide resulting in the death of one person.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., today, Thursday, June 8, 2017, emergency crews responded to the 1100 block of 35 Street S.E., after a woman called stating she had been shot during a dispute with her partner. When police arrived, they quickly entered the home to discover a 44-year-old woman in medical distress, along with a 15-year-old youth who was uninjured.

A 48-year-old man was also located deceased inside the home.

The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable.

To protect the privacy of the family, names will not be released.

Calgary, Alberta – The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a domestic-related shooting incident in the city’s southeast.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., today, Thursday, June 8, 2017, emergency crews were called to the 1100 block of 35 Street S.E., for reports of a woman who had allegedly been shot during a domestic dispute. When police arrived, they quickly entered the home to discover a woman in medical distress, along with a youth who was uninjured.

An adult male was also located deceased inside the home.

The female victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.

Police are not looking for suspects in this case.
