Camrose, Alberta – An east end gas station reported a theft of fuel. A woman filled her vehicle with fuel, entered the store to purchase a bottle of water and then lied to the cashier when asked if she fueled her vehicle. Police reviewed video surveillance and identified the female responsible. The 30 year old woman will be charged with theft.
A west end business contacted Police after apprehending a shoplifter. Police attended and the 23 year old male was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and released on an appearance notice. A couple hours later the same business contacted Police advising that they had another shoplifter in custody. The 21 year old female was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and released on an appearance notice.
Police mediated a dispute between two neighbors where it was alleged that verbal threats were made. Both parties had bylaw concerns with each other which will be dealt with by the city bylaw officer.
A resident residing on Mount Pleasant Drive called 911 to report a fire in her kitchen. Police and the Fire Department were dispatched and Police were able to put out the grease fire. Damage caused to the kitchen but the resident was able to return after the Fire Department ventilated the building.
A second 911 call was received from another resident reporting that a clothes dryer was on fire. Police and the Fire Department were dispatched and Police put out the fire with fire extinquishers. There was significant smoke in the building and the Fire Department arrived to ventilate prior to the residents returning.
A traffic stop was conducted and Police observed a strong odor of cannabis marijuana coming from the vehicle. The male driver was arrested and a search located a quantity of cannabis marijuana and a small quantity of shatter. The drugs were seized and the male was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and released on a promise to appear.
