Prince Albert Police Charge Female With Possession of Stolen Vehicle

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Prince Albert Police Service had a very busy weekend responding to 267 calls for service and 36 people being arrested over the weekend. The top calls for service were for intoxicated persons (29) and disturbances (24).

File # 2017- 19040 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle – On Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 7:36 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service officers were dispatched to a call for a possible stolen vehicle in Cornerstone District with a female driver and possible passengers.

The vehicle was followed by officers down 15th Avenue East and the vehicle turned left on a red light and drove away at high speeds. Vehicle was not pursued due to concern for public safety. The vehicle was later located abandoned on the 1400 Block of 1st Street East.

The vehicle plates were run in the database by officers and it was found that the vehicle was stolen. A containment was set up of the area of 13 Avenue East and 2nd Street East. The female driver of the vehicle was located and arrested by Police Service Dog (PSD) Febee and patrol officers. The passengers were not located.

The 31-year-old female from Prince Albert is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle exceeding $5,000 and breaches of three prior court orders (Information #991015171).

The suspect will face charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
