Airdrie RCMP Returns Over $14,000 of Stolen Property to Local Businesses

Airdrie, Alberta – Airdrie RCMP’s General Investigations Section (GIS), Crime Reduction (CRU), and Domestic Violence Unit’s (DVU) have recovered and returned over $14,000 worth of stolen property found inside an Airdrie residence.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, Airdrie RCMP’s GIS, CRU, and DVU units executed a search warrant on a residence located on Luxstone Boulevard in Airdrie. This search warrant was conducted as a result of an on-going robbery investigation. The search of the residence yielded 72 (seventy two) electronic devices which were still in original packaging including bar codes.

Airdrie RCMP were able to locate the owner of the items and then return them to Best Buy, Cabela’s, and Walmart. The items stolen from Best Buy alone totalled over $12,000.

27 year old Christopher Carl Ferguson of Airdrie is charged with:

  • 1 count of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000
  • 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000

The Airdrie RCMP have an outstanding warrant for Ferguson’s arrest.
