UPDATE: 23-Year-Old Male From Anzac Charged in Fort Mac $20,000 Jewelry Theft

Fort McMurray, Alberta – Wood Buffalo RCMP have made an arrest after a theft of jewelry from a business in the Peterpond Mall which occurred June 9, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m.

A male suspect entered a business and requested to look at jewelry and then fled the store and mall with the merchandise. Two 10kt gold necklaces were stolen which are valued at approximately $20,000.00.

On June 10, 2017, Jaden Dean Janvier**, a 23-year-old from Anzac, Alberta was arrested without incident and charged with:

  • Theft over $5000
  • Traffic property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Fail to comply with a recog or undertaking (x2)

His next court appearance will be on June 26, 2017 in Fort McMurray Provincial Court.
