Edmonton Homicide detectives investigate fatal stabbing – UPDATED

Edmonton, Alberta – EPS Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a male who was allegedly stabbed early this morning.

On Friday, June 16, 2017, a male flagged down a passing police vehicle in the area of 188 Avenue and 50 Street just before 3:30 a.m. to report that another male had been stabbed in a nearby alley.

Police located the injured male and called for EMS; however, he died on scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

UPDATE:

EPS Homicide Detectives continue to investigate the death of a male who was stabbed early this morning.

The manner of death has been confirmed a homicide.

Autopsy results are pending.

The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

This is Edmonton’s 23rd homicide of 2017.
