Fairview, Alberta – RCMP Gaming Section & the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission with the assistance of Fairview RCMP have laid several charges in a 6 month long investigation pertaining to stolen money from local community groups.
In December of 2016, Fairview RCMP received a complaint from the Hines Creek Figure Skating Club and Hines Creek Minor Hockey Club regarding allegations of stolen gaming money.
As a result of the investigation, Barbara Hoffman, age 48 of Hines Creek, Alberta is facing several Criminal Code charges:
- Theft over $5000 (x2)
- Fraud over $5000
- Uttering a forged document
Hoffman has been released from custody and will appear in Fairview Provincial Court on August 23, 2017.
The investigation is on-going and as this matter is now before the courts no further updates will be provided.
